That plane is a helicopter. That is also one of the first photoshopped internet sensations right there. The original photo showed the whole chopper.

Well I'd like to se one of those "helicopter" aircraft make a traffic stop!   Bet they can't do a pit maneuver either.

They have rockets and guns. No pit maneuver  needed...well, maybe. Would a bull dozer shoving the burnt wreckage into a hole be considered a “pit maneuver”?

seems a bit harsh for a speed violation

If a helicopter is harsh what would an M1A1 be? ....overkill.  Old tankers never die our tracks just get rusty

New Mexico State Police used to use A/C to clock speeders on the interstate. We would time a vehicle between 2 measured points and if if the vehicle was speeding we would radio down to a marked unit with the speed and vehicle description. I don't know if they still do that, but when you stopped the target vehicle and told them they are clocked by an aircraft you got some confused looks. It was fun.

Fortunately, no.  And it's generally conceded around here that the "real" speed limit is anything less than 10 mph over the posted speed limit.  Technically speeding.  I do it regularly, subject to conditions, and I pay attention.  But I see your point.

He rides a big ole Harley, got a Mustang GT

And a Bell helicopter hidden in the pine trees

If he catches you for speedin', it's ten years to life

And if you protest he takes your first born child, your house, and your wife

They call him Dudley Do-Right but that's not his real name

Toughest highway cop from California to Maine

He hides back in the bushes with the latest radar

Take your picture, then he'll catch you, in his modified car

His heart's hard as concrete, and his blood is ice cold

He's  Dudley Do-Right of the Highway Patrol

Still used in Ontario.
