Tightening a shotshell loop?

Leather?

Here's a household tip on how to shrink leather.  It would take dummy shotshells (or similar size wood dowels) placed in the water-and-rubbing-alcohol soaked leather loops to keep them from over shrinking, I would imagine.   Remember to recondition the leather after drying to restore oil.

Good luck, GJ

Switch the leather out for elastic and you’ll be glad you did.

  • Try inserting some small pieces of leather (different thicknesses) into the loop and find a thickness that holds it like you want.  Contact cement that piece into the loop.  Essentially, you're adding a leather liner to your loop or pouch.
  • Put a couple stitches next to the original stitch line to make the loop smaller.

Yes leather.  It's a Tupelo Flash rig from Tombstone leather.

Call Nick and ask him.

I have used the 'soft' side of military grade self-adhesive Velcro on the inside of the loop.

You could always change over to shooting 10 ga.

Yeah Bob, but the time spent trying to stuff those 10 gaugers into that 12 wouldn't be worth it.

Just wet the loops and they WILL shrink. So will canvas loops and even the fabric that some call elastic which is woven material with rubber threading .
