Trailrider #896
Unfortunately, the original Col. Sanders passed away some years ago. Whoever is writing the commercials apparently doesn't have the sensitivity of the original. Another one that gets me is the recent Jimmy Dean ads, where a voice says he is Jimmy Dean and speaks with an affected accent. Problem is, Jimmy Dean passed some years ago, also! They didn't have to remake him as an uncouth, loud, vulgarian.
Trailrider #896
Yeah, but that would be too much trouble! Do it on the cheap, and to blazes what we old-timers think. "There arose a new colonel who knew not the original!" Oh, well, I don't buy their stuff anyway.

Actually, I believe they are using old recordings of the real Jimmy Dean. And Col. Sanders has morphed from the old original spokesman to a rotating series of cartoonish impressions. Supposedly he got his recipe from my brother-in-laws grandmother. They were drinking buddies and she taught him how to fry chicken to impress a girl. My sister has made chicken with the old family recipe and did a side by side test with a big group. No one could tell the difference. I've heard a little bit of his story and it was pretty cool. The recipe itself wasn't even half of what made him successful.
Choctaw Jack
Back in the early 70's I worked for KFC during my high school years.Col. Sanders was still doing promo appearances and TV spots. The ad companies gave up trying to have him speak on camera because his language was so "salty". His motivational speeches to the franchisees were quite....colorful. Choctaw
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
I strongly dislike commercials. I understand that they pay for the programs, but that is no reason to be insulting to your audience. Most of the time I can't figure out what their product is, and what they represent, except stupid and discourteous. I really need either.

The ad crowd today aren't old enough to remember Colonel Harlan Sanders. Hell, even Reba McIntyre played him a time or two recently.
Yul Lose
Colonel Sanders in the older KFC ads was a pretty respectable character but these fakers now days kinda remind me of my weird uncle Hal who my folks would never leave us alone with.
