Thought I would share this article about a program providing aid to non-profit organizations in Central Florida.

Below is an excerpt from the article published in the Orlando Sentinel this past Sunday 01.27.2019.

 

"For three hours, I listened to people who have devoted their lives to helping rape victims and Alzheimer’s sufferers.

To the homeless, the hungry, the jobless and the drug-addicted.

To combat veterans fighting demons only they can see. To children who can’t speak, can’t walk or are struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder. To people in wheelchairs desperate to learn how to dance.

They are classes of people often overlooked and under-served.

But they have champions in Central Florida’s nonprofit community. And once a year, the Victory Cup lets those nonprofits tell their stories to a crowd of nearly 500 philanthropists, business leaders and residents who will vote immediately afterward to award $20,000 to the winner, $15,000 to second place, $10,000 to third and $1,000 to the other seven."
