Another Engineering Marvel!

Recommended Posts

I'm dealing with several like that now. Could well have been at the proper grade at one time but due to settling, frost heave, etc. this stuff happens.

In many places in the Metro-Denver area, manhole (oops. human access ports) with drains are actually set below the surface of the road.  Which is great for draining water, but plays hob with your tires and suspension when you roll over them! In one place near my house, you will see almost every vehicle swerve to the right to avoid one! :o

Well see there FKCGG, the drain is actually working. There's no water in it's immediate surroundings.

It's just amazing that live humans actually built that, and nobody either thought to say, or perhaps had the power to say that there was something seriously wrong with this project. Instead they all just shut up and did what they were told to do like a bunch of lemmings. As long as they get paid at the end of the day...
