Price check, please

I have been offered a Ruger Vaquero, .44 Rem. Mag., stainless with 5 1/2" barrel. Not sure if it has the original Ruger box or not and I've not handled it.

Is $500 a good ballpark/starting price? Too high/low?

He only has one.

If I get it, and like it, I'll have to find it a mate.

Mine shoots POA with 240 grain bullets and needed no modification to run black powder reliably.

The auction websites are where to find a mate for it.  In 2012 I was looking for a mate for a 357 stainless OMV.  I only once saw one for sale on Gunbroker.  I lost the bidding at the last second.  Months later I found a Lispeys special blued 357 OMV which I had to settle for.  While I loose style points for one stainless & one engraved blue pistols the handle the same as opposed to mixing OMV w/NMV.

And that's the way it starts......:D

Another 44 revolver and a 44 rifle to be specific.  44 WCF should cover the rifle portion:D. Leather is also already covered, and so are the dies (I think).

I don’t know, will the old model vaqueros fit in the new model holster?

Some holsters will safely hold both, some won't.

Yep - wasn't sure if ORIGINAL Vaqueros, in .44 Mag., were commanding a premium or not.

It's not screaming take me home...

But I wouldn't want to pass up a really great deal.
