Subdeacon Joe
Quote WYOMING HISTORY 100 Years on the Lincoln Highway Special | 57m 9s Before the Interstate Highway System, before famed Route 66, before highways were even numbered, there was one road that started it all, one road that changed America forever: The Lincoln Highway. "100 Years on the Lincoln Highway" is the story of the first coast to coast automobile road in the United States. Beginning in Times Square, New York City and ending at Lincoln Park in San Francisco. https://video.wyomingpbs.org/video/wyoming-pbs-documentaries-100-years-lincoln-highway/ follow the link, watch the hour long video. Trailrider #896
Yup! Little America Motel is right off I-80 and I-25 on the edge of Cheyenne. Great place! Have stayed there quite a few times, both for Hell On Wheels shoots, and, most recently for a convention of the Associate of Air Force Missileers. I do suggest if your room is in buildings 2 or 3, and there is a forecast of a "little" snow, and your banquet is in the main building that you drive over, have your window scraper and brush, and wear some good heavy snow boots! Last October, the weather had been perfect from Wednesday through Saturday early afternoon. We parked right near the banquet room entrance, about 50 yds from the portico. About halfway through the banquet, the lights went out (emergency lights came right on), then came back on. This happened twice. Got up to look outside and it was snowing HARD, sideways! By the time the banquet was over, there was frozen rain under about 6 inches of snow on the car! Got it cleaned off and drove back to building #3. By the next day, it had pretty much cleared out, and we drove back to Denver with no trouble. Don't like the weather in this part of the country? Wait a minute. It WILL change! But Little America is a great place to stay!

Sixgun Seamus
Grew up on the Lincoln Highway. We used ride/push our bikes to the top of what we called "Station Hill". You would coast down the hill for better than half mile back into town. Half of the trip was on the bone jarring original brick road surface. That section still remains as part of one of the longest stretches of original brick in the country.

punxsutawneypete
Around hear it goes from Lancaster to York to Gettysburg to Chambersburg. Part is US 30 but where the by-passes were built it's PA Route 462.
