The slide is not back, so how do you know? "Treat every firearm as if it is loaded".  The way I was taught.

1.   That shotgun is his life line when the SHTF.  Treat it as such.

2.  Basic comfort.

3.  The Mother of All Wedgies.

Perhaps Rye can tell because it appears that the extractor is flush with the side of the bolt? At least that is how it looks to me when I blow up the picture.

That would make a quick job of prostate surgery.

Look I'm not saying I would do it, but if it's not chambered it ain't gonna go off!! You also have to pull the trigger!!

I figure anyone careless enough to  position themselves on a firearm like this would also be

careless enough to have a chambered round.

Then again, maybe his SG is gas operated..... :o

This guy reminds me of when I was in Peace Corps in Guatemala in the 70s.  The Army had soldiers stationed as bank guards.  I saw lots of unique firearm handling.  One soldier had his index finger in the muzzle of the vertical shotgun and was tapping the butt on the floor.  We learned not to make any assumptions about stuff.  Like how well maintained was the sear.  Was it loaded?  Was it chambered?  Or did he even have any ammo.  We saw a pair of guards once, one guy was wearing the empty holster and the other guy had the pistol in his belt.  Etc.  Etc.

No thanks - I don't subscribe to "assume" - I will"treat" every weapon as if it is loaded - Plus this idiot's act is not good representation/presentation of proper and responsible gun handling.

Says it all:

True I agree it's not a good representation of safe gun handling..... I do agree! I'm guess I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt!!

All I'm saying the gun will NOT go off if it's not chambered and the trigger is not pulled.
