Trigger Mike
Colts generally go for 900 to 1100 or more for new ar15. My local dealer has a sale tomorrow and has them at 699. For a colt m4. Are these lower quality models that colt puts out or have prices dropped that much?
Perro Del Diablo
Is it an actual Colt? Real Colts do cost more but other manufatres make them that doesn't cost as much. Prices have come down but I think think that might be another.
Carolina Gunslinger
Colt did come out with a value model to counter the offerings of other makers a few years back. Check the SKU and be sure that you're getting a deal.
Badlands Bob #61228
A quick check on Gunbroker shows that some of the Colt AR15's are going in the $6-700 range. Personally, I wouldn't pay extra for the Colt name on an AR15. There are lots of AR15 manufacturers out there that make milspec AR15s. The AR15 prices have come down in the past couple of years. If you just want the Colt name on one, $699 is probably not a bad price.
Hashknife Cowboy
As I was told from someone who use to work for Colt, the market is saturated with AR type rifles. In order to keep in business a M4 at a competitive price was necessary business move.
Pat Riot
TM, Check out this article. https://gundigest.com/article/ar-15-review-colt-expanse-m4/amp $699 is the MSRP. Not a “deal”...if this is the Colt “Expanse” M4.

Trigger Mike
The article was real helpful. the dealer posted a picture of it on facebook and it looks like it is not the expanse version since it does have a forward assist. I misquoted the price. it is 599. I don't need one but my boys hunt with one sometimes since it can be adjusted to fit them with the collapsable stock
The Original Lumpy Gritz
I like Armalite over Colt. OLG

Also remember that Colt has offered a so-called "OEM" version of the basic 6920 M4 without a stock, handguards, and sights, for the benefit of those who already have containers full of pull-off parts. Trigger Mike
I went to see it. Dealer said it is the expanse model. He seemed disappointed I put it back on the shelf. I did pick up a beretta 21a in 22 for
