Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Wanting something different and still 'cowboy' for the "elves" I have run across plans for a wooden SAA as well as a Winchester 1873 RUBBER BAND guns. You can even find YouTube videos of how to put them together. The plans are free and can be downloaded from https://www.rbguns.com/ https://www.rbguns.com/english/single-action-army-revolver/ https://www.rbguns.com/english/lever-action-rifle/ While I can pound a nail straight 4 out of 10 times as woodworking is one of my (many) hobbies, the cutting of all the parts has me "going directly to jail, not passing GO and out $200) I'd like to know if there are businesses or individuals who would take the plans and be able to (laser?) cut the parts out for something less than the cost of a brand new 'real' SAA or 1873. Make of kit of wooden parts to go along with the plans I could see a cottage industry developing to meet the demand of SASS members who would love to have one, or two (or ten)--line stolen from The Alamo when Richard Widmark and John Wayne were talking about having a few drinks So . . . thoughts, guidance, advice are all welcome or is there another way to go?? cheyenne (or as I'm known to my wife: Nine-Finger Charlie)
Clay Mosby Posted November 11, 2018 Posted November 11, 2018 Having looked into this regarding getting parts cut out for the flying model airplanes I build, I can tell you that it can be very expensive. Many hours are required as the parts aren't just traced, but compensation must be made for the width of the laser doing the cutting, guaranteeing the parts fit together, etc. Also, all parts will have a dark edge from he burning of the laser. There are folks out there that will do it, but be prepared for sticker shock.
Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L Posted November 11, 2018 Author Posted November 11, 2018 figured as much either back to cutting them out myself or look for something else thanks for info
