Well Buck,

I told ya when you called me a while back that I would be there when it was in cooler weather.

So I reckon will be there if you get a cool date.

Judge

Late October is cool. Just step outside. I look forward to seeing you there, Judge!

Congratulations.  Count on me being there.  We could do the Alabama State match on one weekend and the Southeast Regional the next weekend.  Never have to move the camper.

I might have to think up another challenge or two for long range. We're limited to 200 yards but I'm sure I can come with something fun.

We have started planning and spinning things around. We are brainstorming ideas about keeping the shooters entertained.

I will get the website and documents updated ASAP.

One year from today is sidematch day. The low this morning was 39. High is projected to be 69. At 10:00 a.m., it's 48, the sun has a blue sky backdrop with scattered cirrus clouds, and the air quality is excellent. Perfect shooting weather. Y'all come.

One year from now is the first day of the main match. The low this morning was 50. High is projected to be 57. Stratocumulus cloud cover.  No wind. Have I mentioned that the weather is nice? :)

A breeze would be nice for the soot shooters! :D

I'll have that arranged by next year. :) Actually, a little wind did come up yesterday.

Today we have drizzling rain. We're getting that out of the way. :)

It was pretty hot last time we visited Cavern Cove.

I'm looking forward the regional next fall and all that nice weather Buck is promising!

We're going in another direction, literally. While Scottsboro is still an option for people who will be staying at a hotel, we have secured blocks of rooms in two different hotels, one in Guntersville which is nearly identical in travel time to the range vs. staying in Scottsboro, and the other being Guntersville State Park Lodge which is an additional 15 minutes or so. Both hotels have rooms with lake views and will be offering discounts to Ambush attendees. The Saturday night awards will now be known as the Ambush Ball, so dig out those fancy duds or come in your normal shooting attire. It's going to be a ball for everyone, so it's only fitting that it will be held in the Grandview Ballroom at Guntersville State Park Lodge.  If you wonder why they call it the Grandview Ballroom, maybe this video will help explain. Y'all come now, ya hear!

Looking forward to the match. By the way, the link is for the application NOT the Park website.

Here is the RV camping information for Guntersville State Park. This campground is very nice but is about 40 minutes from the range. It's perfect for anyone who doesn't mind driving a bit extra or who intends to stay a little longer, enjoy the sights and have a little vacation on top of attending the match. There is also camping on the range, but if you want to camp there you should sign up ASAP to ensure you get a spot. There is also another RV park about 15 minutes or so away. Details to be added later.

Hi Buck,

Hope you don't mind but I have a PSA to make.

I was calling around reserving hotel rooms for all the matches Shootin Sharyn and I will be going to next year.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Alabama State Match 'Bushwacked at Cavern Cove' will now be held the 4th weekend in April.  That's coming up faster than you think.  Our apps will go out shortly.
