Draft vs Draught

Watching Gunsmoke, I noticed there are a couple signs hanging on the wall of the saloon entrance.

 

The sign shows a mug of beer and reads ... "On Draught".

 

Whats the difference between Draft Beer and Beer on Draught?

Draught: Saloon is out of beer!

British and American spelling.  Also, in Britain the game of checkers is called draughts.
