Well, you do talk kinda funny EH?:D:D:ph34r:

Nuthin, like us Canadians:blink:

(But if you ever want to see REAL miscommunication, just put a Quebecois, a Newfoundlander and someone from the Upper Ottawa Valley together over a few beers.)

You ain't been far enough back in the hills of Appalachia yet.

Some of my West Virginia kin are harder to understand than most foreigners.

Howdy,

I remember one of my first dates driving Dads car.

It was snowing and icy so we just slipped on the chains for the back wheels.

No big deal.

The BEST advise is to stay home, because even if you are experienced and

have a fine car with great snow and ice tires, the OTHER guy can still

hit you or hurt you or put you in the hospital or morgue.

A good friend had his chevy totaled because the other driver decided to

run him off the road into a ditch on a snowy day.

His boss insisted he was essential and had to work.

He got in several hours late and then they closed due to weather.

A front wheel drive car with chains is awesome to drive thru a snowstorm tho.

Spinning out of control into a ditch not so much.....

Best

CR

Linn!!!  One of the most comical things you'll EVER see is some smug northerner trying to drive on snow that falls in the southeast!!  I can't count the times I've heard one of them decry the southern snow on the roads as they are towed out of a ditch down here!!  I've driven all over this country in all kinds of weather.  The snow conditions down south are ENTIRELY different than those up in New England, or in the Iron Belt, or in the upper midwest, or again, in the Rockies!!  Each area has it's own unique characteristics and that knowledge allows some to drive anywhere, some to get around well in their own back yard, and some to grab that gallon of milk and that loaf of bread and seek warm, dry shelter!!  It also allows some to embarrass themselves, thinking that they are able to use their limited knowledge and likewise limited skills in places and conditions that they haven't encountered and fail to take seriously!!      <_<

Aha!

Once again I find a great truth's confirmation ...

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing ...

I know just enough to get myself in trouble!

One of the problems we have in the North is that a big storm comes and the Governor issues an order that nom-essential state workers should stay home.  Suddenly 50,000 state workers who normally would call in sick, now don’t want to declare themselves non-essential, and hit the roads to drive to work.

"Essential" state workers are the one using his shovel instead of leaning on one, right?
