grenadier Posted September 12, 2018 Share Posted September 12, 2018 I’m rather obsessed with Dragnet and I have watched all of the second series and now starting with the orignal series from the 1950’s. I am amazed at how many of the actors from the original series we’re recycled and used a decade later. It actually originated came from a 1953 parody record Little Blue Riding Hood by Stan Freberg. Quote Little Blue Riding Hood: Why Grandma, what big ears you’ve got!Sgt. Wednesday: All the better to get the facts. I just want to get the facts, ma’am. As time went by it eventually got shortened to " Just the facts, Ma'am". The first time it was actually uttered on screen was in the 1987 parody movie Dragnet. Sgt Friday was played by Dan Aykroyd. If you listen closely you will also hear other famous sayings.
