Isn’t she the one who was caught on a donut shop security cam and said “l hate America”?

Edit: yeah l found it.

Clinton - disgusting

Aretha was a treasure and a performer of the highest caliber. To see the CIRCUS of self aggrandizement that has played out to mark her passing turns my stomach!!

The very idea of costume changes for a corpse is tragically ludicrous!

WHAT A RIDICULOUS AND REVOLTING DOG AND PONY SHOW!!

I’m deleting what I said here.  Some might find it offensive.

Those I would really WANT to offend don’t come here.

The Duck Man!

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.  :P

And then...

You'll like this one, BW:

When I read that I said No Way, that has to be an urban legend!!  But NO, according to the New York Times it happened at least 4 times!!   That seems like an abysmal insult to a Grand Lady.

My son is a co-writer for one of her songs on her album!~Quit (or I can't quit you) I wish her all the success in the world because that means $$$ in my son's pocket!

I don't care what anyone thinks of her and neither does my son! It's all about the bucks!;)

He should. There is a famous (or infamous) black and white photo of him(late 1960's) sitting at the feet of Larry Hoover, founder of the Gangster Disciples street gang. Larry was convicted of murder in 1973 and is serving a 150-200 year sentence at the ADX Supermax in Florence, Colorado. The picture is all over the internet, I just can't get it to upload.

And there is more here:

This topic is kinda pissing me off and making me really sad.  Miss Aretha was almost as much an American icon as Willie Nelson.

Perhaps no more important, but because of her contributions to our happiness and to the arts, at least worthy of some greater notice??

I have to believe that changing costumes was her idea.

My thought exactly.  I figure it was her last chance to have some fun with people.  I can't help but chuckle and think she's up there somewhere thinking "Some folks just can't take a joke."

Kind of like the guy whose tombstone is engraved "I told you I was sick".

Just because you're dead doesn't mean you have to stop having fun.

When I'm gone you all are still free to make jokes at my expense.  I have a t-shirt that says "Got Kilt?"  Every time I wear it I think that if I get killed in a car accident some smart a&& cop is going to read it and say "Why, yes you did".  As a retired smart a&& cop I know that's what I'd be thinking.

Of course, I could be wrong and it could all be the idea of some sleazy promoter trying to make a few last dollars off her.  Like old west selling photos with the corpse for $1.

Spike Milligan a Gunner in WW2 and a member of the origional GOON Show in England.

The headstone of Spike Milligan's grave, formerly in the grounds of St Thomas' Winchelsea, East Sussex. The name of his last wife has since been added along with birth and death dates and an additional epitaph. The epitaph reads Dúirt mé leat go raibh mé breoite, Irish for "I told you I was ill."
