California.

I know it's not totally true, but these days it feels like only conservatives go to jail.

Believe it or not you have to pay the county and state for “your care” for every day that you are in jail in California. So, if an attorney can manipulate a judge into allowing you to go free because you cannot afford to go to jail then you can get light bull s*** sentences like that drunken hag.

You can Thank a certain type of politician for this kind of injustice.

This wasn't bail...This was sentencing! Crazy!

Listening to an interview right now with the Sheriff... many, many aspects of this bill were evidently not thought out at all, with a flood of "unanticipated consequences" expected.

It ain't good.

As I've said before... every time I think this state cannot go any faster down the Highway to Hell, they open a new lane.  silly.gif

Here's another one. A woman who can't stay off the bottle and has been arrested in seven states for DUI has gotten off yet again:

People don't seem to understand that it's our pathetically lenient penal system that makes this country the laughing stock of the world, not our supposedly weak gun laws. We seem too willing to coddle criminals and "give them another chance", over and over and over.

I've thought of some positives for CA.. If the person is guilty and fears jail, they may flee to another state or country. The positives for CA are less people to support in prison. Less court costs. Less petty criminals.

Alas, there are negatives for us too. More petty criminals on the loose. Petty criminals may only be petty as no one has discovered their heinous crimes. Bail bondsmen no longer provide free tracking and capture of people who don't show up in court.

I'm sure there are many more considerations.

Needless to say, I think it stinks.
