Sedalia Dave Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Judge allows temporary ban on 3D-printed gun files to continue Even though the Judge knows that Defense Distributed will win he still keeps the injunction in place. Starting to look like he is trying to bleed DD dry in legal fees. Guess I’ll have to make a donation to the DD legal fund. Wonder if I can use my PayPal account and get 6months free interest.
Tennessee Trapper Tom Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 I might be out on a limb here. Probably am. Usually am. I have a fair understanding about operation of a firearm. I also have a rudimentary understanding of ballistics and machinery. I’m fairly certain that in combination with my much more skilled friends we could make reliable off the books guns that are perfectly legal and more reliable than where they are going with this. Much better than Saturday night specials and plastic printed guns. Blueprints for firearms are readily available. I could go on and on. Bottom line is conservatives are generally more skilled, intelligent able to react to a curve ball than our brethren. Lights go out. Who’s ahead of the curve ball. I know I’m rambling. I’m also running a slight fever
Tell Sackett SASS 18436 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 What I'm wondering is: why this company in Texas gives a hoot what some judge in Seattle says? Also, how did this judge notify them of his "edict"? Are they just supposed to "know"? Seems to me they should have just published the plans and said "You didn't tell US".
Goody, SASS #26190 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Took less than 5 minutes to Google "Zip Guns" and find a YouTube of two teenagers who made a pipe gun firing 12 gauge. Describe how it is made and said he had about $3.00 in materials. Shoots a water jug at about 2 feet and still has all his appendages. Point is this is just a political football, being punted back and forth with no touchdowns in sight.

The question is, who would WANT one of the stupid things? I much prefer real guns. Much more fun and reliable.
Goody, SASS #26190 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 My point was that the internet is already flooded with plans and instructions on how to make a gun. This current craze is a bunch of noise about nothing to see who can get the bigger headlines and sway peoples opinions.
Tell Sackett SASS 18436 Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 That's very true. Remember Pandoras box....
J.D. Daily Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Cody Wilson created the code to create the plastic parts of the "Liberator" to push the envelope. When he 1 st posted a download link on the internet he was waiting for the Obama regime to react. The legal envelope he was pushing is computer code is speech. The State Dept. sent him a cease & desist letter stating that posting the code violated ITAR. He sued Uncle Sam stating that his 1A rights were being infringed. While he lost at the district court level the Trump State Dept. chose to settle as well as move ITAR administration to the Commerce Dept where it belongs. The DOJ felt that should the case reach SCOTUS, precedent would dictate an outcome favorable to Defense Distributed. Infringements on the rights of the "People" must be judged under strict scrutiny. Like the district court rulings against the so called muslim travel ban by federal judges that are part of the Resistance POTUS will eventually reverse them. The Seattle judge who issued the injunction chose to accept the plaintiff's argument of irreparable harm & ignore the defendant's argument that the horse left the barn 4 years ago & is running free all over the internet. Go to codeisfreespeech.com & download the CAD/CAM files for the "Liberator" & AR15 lower. Don't bother to Google the link because Google, other search engines and social media have quarantined the site. You have to type www.codeisfreespeech.com into a browsers address box to go there.
Dubious Don #56333 Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Its really a non-issue what the judge did; all it prohibits is "posting" these files on the internet. They guy can (and does) sell them. Even for $0 bucks.
