S&W/Walther PPK/S-1 (380) Price Check

Could someone with a blue book please provide me the listed prices for this gun.

I've been asked by a former co-worker who wants to sell.

Appears to be stainless in good condition (I've only got a blurry cell phone pic).

I don't know anything about these pistols and internet searches show from about $650 to over $1,000.

Thanks.

I just bought a NIB  classic Walther, for $450 cpl mos ago.

anything over $650 let alone  a grand is going to be a

TRUE  classic Walther and NOT an SW.

The market is dead on these as you can buy

an SW shield  or Glock 42/43 for right around $400

no collector value but better carry guns.

Anything over $450 and he's doing good.

Blue Book is worthless to any serious gun guys.

Just a head's up, there was a recall on the Walther/S&W PPK/s:

https://secure05.lwcdirect.com/front/frontQuestionnaire.jsp?p=ppksafetyrecall.com

If the pistol is not subject to the recall or has been repaired, then $450 would be NIB Condition. $295 for one in "Blue Book 90%" Condition.

that recall is beau coup old , happened during the first year of transition to S&W .

There are changes between the classic PPK's and SW's most noticeably the enlarged tang

which I hate , doesn't feel better to shoot and looks dang fugly!

Not quite.

This recall applies to all Walther PPK and PPK/S pistols manufactured by Smith & Wesson from March 21, 2002, until February 3, 2009.  The Serial Numbers of the pistols subject to this recall are as follows:

0010BAB - 9999BAB
0000BAC - 9999BAC
0000BAD - 9999BAD
0000BAE - 9999BAE
0000BAF - 9999BAF
0000BAH - 9999BAH
0000BAJ - 9999BAJ
0000BAK - 9999BAK
0000BAL - 5313BAL
0000BAM - 1320BAM
0000LTD - 0499LTD
0001PPK - 1500PPK
0026REP - 0219REP
0001WLE - 0459WLE

When I was working retail, only a couple of years ago, we turned one down on a trade because it hadn't been sent in on the recall. We took another one in that had.

As for the enlarged tang, I agree that it changes the looks (I don't mind it), but I don't believe it adds much if anything to the ergonomics.

First one works fine.

The second one is the same no-joy.

Thanks. They have the same basic info, other than the contact information.

I had one of the S&W PPKs. I liked it quite a bit, but it was another that fell to the need for money.

Just now, Chief Rick said:

This pistol's S/N falls within the range of 0000BAH - 9999BAH - reckon it's affected.

Have the owner check to see if it has the punch mark to indicate if it has been repaired, or he can contact the company if not sure.
