The tip of the extractor is gone on my trusty Wild bunch shooter, a Norinco 1911 a1.

Does anyone know if a Colt ,or generic 'Colt' extractor will fit ?

Also, are extractors a 'drop in' ,or do they need 'tuning?'

thanks !

Should fit, but you could need tuning.  Adjusting tension and some chamfering, polishing will make things more harmonious.  That applies to all 1911, not just Norinco.     GW

Maybe-Norinco specs are a bit 'off' from the rest.

Get one here-You will have to most likly set the tension on any extractor you buy.

How to 'tune' one.

I tune Lots of 1911's for Wild Bunch and bullseye competition.  Yes, the extractor will work in your 1911.  When I replace a new extractor I tune it to that pistol. Using the correct amount of lbs of tension, this is done with a gauge, for the extractor and recutting the surface angle.  This gives better extraction for the Brass and increases extractor life. With that said some times a drop in extractor will work reasonably good without fitting.
