Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 I once knew an old man who had been in the navy when they still had steam engines, then went to work for the UP driving Challengers until he retired. It was his opinion (and he may well have been right) that the closest man had ever come to creating artificial life was the steam engine.
Pat Riot Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 40, The truth of the matter is many folks wax nostalgic over technology that is no longer used. It’s called “The Good Old Days”. I was just telling some guys at work that I want a 1960’s Ford truck because they are simple and the work and they have no danger electonics anywhere in them. But, I am glad someone keeps things alive. Like that steam engine.
Smoky Pistols Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 +1 to that Pat! Back in the late nineties, I had the opportunity to purchase a '67 Apache 20 pickup. When my wife asked me why I wanted it, I popped the hood and said, "See that-it's only got a water pump and an alternator and I know how to replace both!"
