Widder, SASS #59054 Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 At present, I own a nice mid-70's OVATION 12 string acoustic electric guitar. It plays really well. ANYHOW, I been thinking about getting a new 12-string acoustic electric and right now, I'm leaning to the Takamine (Tock a mean ee). Your opinion on what YOU may own and play will be appreciated. Around here in E.TN, there seems to be a lot of Taylor, Martin, Guild,..... and a few Blueridge and Fender brands. Thanks for your .02 ..........Widder

Clay Mosby Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 Widder, I have a Takamine EG523SC-12 and absolutely love it! My hands aren't very strong, but I find that with a set of ultra-light strings it plays well and has a rich but delicate sound that I like. I bought mine used about 8-9 years ago in near perfect condition at Guitar Center. Paid $350 for it.

Shotgun Willie Nelson Posted July 10, 2018 Posted July 10, 2018 I once't picked up a Taylor in a shop in Austin and played Smoke on the Water with it. Got some funny looks from some of those "Classical" guys. Don't understand why. Classic rock is classical aint it?
