Hello the fire

I would like to know the weight of a 9mm 115 gr Cartridge in oz.

also what a 45acp 200gr cartridge weighs

my friendly butcher won't help and my scales are in Az.

I am trying to add the loaded weight of the mags to empty weight of the firearm

thanks. CATLOW

115 grains = 0.262 oz. 200 grains = 0.457 oz. The weight of the cartridge is going to depend on the  brass, nickel or steel case wt.  and the wt of which powder used.

I'll go out to the workshop and weigh a factory round of each and be right back...

ok, a Winchester 115 grain FMJ Cartridge weighs in at 0.4157 oz.  (181.9 grains)

my 200gr Lead, Reloaded .45acp Cartridge weighs in at 0.6717 oz.  (293.9 grains)

that's just one of each... I didn't run a batch to check for an average.

I am trying to come up with weight for carry gun

sig P365 with 13  9mm total almost 18 oz empty plus the 13 rounds of 9 mm

Kimber Ultra Carry 25 oz plus 8 rounds of 45 acp

holsters will be close in weight

I am not starting a 9mm verses 45acp debate and I all ready own both guns along with a Glock  model 26 with 10 round mag

the new Sig P365 just fits in my small hand better

Catlow, In the winter I carry a MK 9mm Kahr, had it over 20 years, and it is heavy, but that is what I have.   In the summer Kahr 380, very light.

I have been trying to find the best carry gun for my hand and then concealable with lite weight clothing year round.

mostly shorts and t shirt

Seecamp 32 acp in front pocket 7 rounds

S&W 342 PD 38 special 5 rounds weights less than 11 oz. empty

Kimber Ulta Carry 45acp 8 rounds

Now a Sig P 365 9mm with 13 rounds in a belt holster

I really like this new Sig a lot

Yes I know find one gun and stick with it ,seems to fit my hand the best and has the night sights.

I guess time will tell.

Thanks for information.  CATLOW
