String Bean

I worked at OPRYLAND when I was just out of high school. It was a second job that got me good insurance.

The National Life and Accident Insurance Company owned Opryland in conjunction with Gaylord Entertainment Corporation.  Gaylord was owned by String Bean and others involved in The Grand Ole’ Opry. The company was named after that old hound that you always saw on Hee Haw.  Lots of people thought that there was actually a Mr. Gaylord. It even became part of a long running comedy routine on local radio!
