McCandless
I'm just practicing this in the back yard, and wondered if this would be a viable shooting pattern for a match, or if it's too complicated. My idea was to give me a bit of practice shooting near and far, and to make myself think a little. The purpose is not to slow shooters down. I hate that concept. R/P2 R/P3 R/P4 R/P5 R/P1 Table Sequence is: with rifle - R/P1 - R/P3 - R/P4 - R/P5, R/P2 - R/P3 - R/P4, R/P2 - R/P3 - R/P 1. Either direction. Repeat with Pistol. Thoughts? Prairie Dawg, SASS #50329
Alot of our older folks at my club would not be able to remember the sequence. I would not write this for our monthly shoot I would write something different for this target array Like shoot the front target, double-tap sweep the back 4 targets, shoot the front target again --Dawg
irish ike, SASS #43615
10 second bonus for shooting it without getting a "P"? Ike

Creeker, SASS #43022
Am I missing a needed complexity? 10 shots, near and far Seems the easy way to do this is. ..............R P1, P2, P3, P4, P5 R, P1, R, P2, R, P3, R, P4, R, P5 Repeat with pistols
Keystone, SASS # 47578
Instead of designating every shot, start with middle target (R/P1), then inside targets (3/4 or 4/3), then outside targets (2/5 or 5/2). Then inside targets (3/4 or 4/3), followed by outside targets (2/5 or 5/2) and ending with middle target (R/P1). In other words; middle, inside, inside, outside, outside, then inside, inside, outside, outside, middle.

Thanks. Note: I'll compensate McCandless for the layout idea, you for the modification upgrade and an honorable mention to Pat for effort.

The Original Lumpy Gritz
Both rifle and pistol-2 rnds on each target. Are the back targets, close enough for SG?? If so-1 rnd on each........ OLG
McCandless
I will simplify it, we have some new shooters and I don't want to have them flummoxed.... Fairly easy to modify a number of ways. Thanks.

The Original Lumpy Gritz
Use the back R/P targets if you can for SG. Makes for less steel to 'mule' around........ OLG

I guess this made it out of the back yard it would probably just become a 4 target descending sweep. 1-2-3-4, 1,2,3 1-2, 1 or P-1-2-3, P-1-2, P-1, P ~Duc~
Griff
My only criticism would be having the same targets for both rifle and pistol. Makes the Rifle too close, or the pistol too far.
Assassin
If it takes more than a few seconds to remember the sequence it's probably not a good sweep. I enjoy crossword puzzles but not when I'm shooting. I don't really understand the need for folks to have a sweep named after themselves, they could just call it the "narcissistic" sweep. I feel many of these sweeps are written by folks that were the last kids picked for the kick ball team when they were in elementary school. Keep it simple!
