Ramblin Gambler
My best fight ever was when I was perch fishing on a home-made rig. An 8 ft fiberglass flag pole with a wooden dowel for a handle and a couple of eyes glued on. I had some good fights with chinqapins and bluegill and even crappie. But they weren't nothin compared to the time I hooked into a largemouth bass with it. It was just a little schoolin sized bass that I had to throw back. But I passed the pole off to my little cousins and they kept going back to that same spot. I woulda lost the pole that day if the handle didn't float.
