Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967
I'm sure I heard something on the radio news today about a proposal to limit firearms raffles in California. Is anyone aware of such a movement? I cannot find any mention online, but what I believe I heard was something like a limit of three raffles per year. I surely hope some reporter was mistaken; this could really put a bind on organizations like Ducks Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and a host of others. Hm. I must have missed the reports about those dastardly duck hunters committing bank holdups and mass shootings with newly won Browning Citori's and the like - after the requisite ten-day "cooling off" period, of course. Charlie T Waite
Just happened to think of this article I saw: A nonprofit raffled off an AR-15. Now a lawmaker seeks a crackdown on such fundraisers I wonder if this is what you heard about? This is the only thing I heard of so if this is not it we'll have to rely on Subdeacon Joe as the TSSD for CA, he has a handle on what has been happening out there. Charlie Link to comment
