Boomstick Bruce
Does anyone have a 16" barrel Rossi 92 in 45 Colt that can tell me how many rounds it ACTUALLY holds? My 20" is claimed to only hold 10 in the tube but it actually holds 11, even with the big 255's... So I got to wondering if the 16" holds more than 8 in the tube like it's claimed too... Sedalia Dave
A lot depends on the OAl of your cartridges. Spec is 1.6" OAL So 8 cartridges at 1.6" plus an allowance of 1.5" for the follower, spring, and magazine cap adds up to 14.3" 16 - 14.3 = 1.7" So it may be possible. A lot will depend on if the spring has been shortened any. Typically SASS guns will have 4 to 6 inches removed from a factory spring to make it easier to load. This reduction in the spring is probably why you can get the 11th round in your 20 in barrel model.
