Tennessee Trapper Tom
My great Aunt owned a dinner in Lake City, Tennessee. Every summer when we visited grandma, I would run to Aunt Johnny’s. She feed me like I needed to be fat. All the local good ole boys would be there drinking coffee, eating and talking about everything. Mostly, what fish are running at Norris Dam, where the deer were last year, what was going on in the area politically and so on and so. I couldn’t get enough. Grandmas is now a parking lot for the bank. Johnny’s has been gone for nearly forty years. I hate driving thru the town now. But I’ll never forget those tunes they played and this was one that played a lot. Its like comfort food. Home was hope. Hope for a better tomorrow. Seems like tomorrow is disappearing.
