Buffalo Dick, SASS #12880
I just picked up a second Dillon 650 from an estate. I've had one for 15+ years and had put the optional roller handle on from the beginning. The friend who previously owned my "new" press had three 650's, all with the standard ball-ended handle. I was curious as to what others preferred. I was getting ready to order the case feeder from Dillon and wasn't sure whether i should order another roller handle at the same time. Thanks for any input.
Cheyenne Culpepper 32827
I've got one of each,, the ball one is on the one I use the most, don't figure it's worth the time to change them over,,, plus, if it gets loose you don't have to fight it
Perro Del Diablo
I put a roller on my 550. Sometimes I think I should have stayed with the ball but been too lazy change back. If you are used to roller might as well get it.
Imis Twohofon,SASS # 46646
I have used the ball style on the 550 I got from my dad, and on two SDB for 20+ years and havent felt the need to change. The SL 900 I have has a roller handle. I think the roller may actually limit the angle of your wrist, maybe making for discomfort or wrist issues. If you have used a roller for 15 years with no issue,no worries. i like the ball style. Imis
The Original Lumpy Gritz
Have run the roller on my D/550, since they came out. OLG
Sgt. Saywut
I have two 650’s, one with the ball and one with the roller. I don’t have a preference for one over the other; any money spent on either rig would be for more usable options like a case feeder or a primer interrupt device. AZAD
I have three presses, of them two have the roller handle, for me it really helped not getting tendentious. But this is just me, your milage may vary.

Colorado Coffinmaker
PLUS ONE to Pettifogger But .. since you asked, I have Rollers on both my 650s. If your loading a hundred rounds, it won't make a difference. If your loading a thousand, a roller makes a huge difference. Saves on Bandaids too. Chief Rick
When I bought my first 550 I also bought the roller handle and used it for several years. When I bought my second 550 (used) it had the ball. I personally get a better "feel" when seating primers with the ball. I've since switched the roller out for the other ball. BTW, I only load about a max of 400-500 rounds at a time.
Randy Saint Eagle, SASS # 64903
I used a ball handle on my 650 for several years before I broke down and tried the roller, I wish I'd done it sooner. Randy
Kirk James
I have used the roller for the last 6 years. I made the handle a larger diameter by placing some swimming pool styrofoam tube float material over it. A lot easier on the forearms. I use to get tennis elbow after several large runs of ammo. The larger diameter takes the pressure off your grip. Just use tape to hold it on.

Randy That is my experience also. I don't know why they don't scrap the ball handle and make the roller standard equipment. Your mileage may vary. Turkey Creek Red, SASS # 22854
I have a 650 used the ball handle for a short while, and then to the roller handle. But again it is what YOU prefer.
Lead Friend, SASS #53635
I use the ball and have encountered no issues or complaints, but then again it’s all I’ve ever used so I don’t know any better. I’ve loaded runs up to 2000 rounds and I see no reason to change.
