These companies are cutting ties with the NRA after the Florida Shooting

Corporate America is taking on the country’s most powerful gun lobby group. In the wake of the mass shooting in a Florida high school last week, companies are dropping their partnerships with the National Rifle Association (NRA), which touts 5 million members.

Here is the list of companies so far that will no-longer receive my patronage - I have also contacted each as to my intentions and why.  As a side note I went to their websites and FB pages and left a negative review about their lack of support for our constitutional rights,

–First National Bank of Omaha
-Hertz (HTZ)
–Enterprise
–Symantec (SYMC)
-Chubb (CB)
-Best Western
-Wyndham Hotels
-Avis Budget Group

My near town, Bonners Ferry, has a Best Western that features a casino and restaurant. Last year we celebrated the Marine Corps Birthday in its restaurant My friends and neighbors dined there a few times each month.

I won't be going there again.

I just saw that FedEx added themselves to the list.  I had a shipment scheduled to be picked up Monday went online and cancel the pickup I gave them the reason as their lack of support for our Constitution and Bill of Rights and said that I would utilize UPS

I don't belong to the NRA for the discounts at hotels etc., so as far I'm concerned I won't patronize these company's anymore. Who really loses, I don't believe it will be the NRA in the long run. The trick now is to get more gun owners to join the NRA.

I was going to fly United which I have used since the 40s when my Dad was the investment banker that helped Pat Patterson organize it. I will not use them again nor Delta. I cancelled flights that I had planned to use in March. I am taking Amtrak instead.

I havethe VA's Met Life dental insurance. I will try to change that to another carrier next week.

As a lifetime benefactor level member of the NRA, I've already started sending emails and posting on Facebook about my feelings for these companies and will refuse to use their products and/or services.

FedEx sent me a reply and said they have not pulled support but there is a group on social medial with a  petition to get them to do so.  Forgot to ad that that groups name is "Guns Down"

A five million member buyers group can certainly influence these companies to change their tune if we all stick together and boycott THEM!!

Just read that Bank of America and other financial institutions are considering ceasing to do business with some firearms related businesses. They have not done this yet so don't cancel your accounts but do contact them and let them know that if they do you will be cancelling your accounts.

Scoop: Bank of America to review relationships with gunmakers

Beginning what could become a widespread financial squeeze on gun manufacturers, Bank of America says in a statement to Axios that it is reexamining its relationship with banking clients who make AR-15s.

"We are joining other companies in our industry to examine what we can do to help end the tragedy of mass shootings, and an immediate step we’re taking is to engage the limited number of clients we have that manufacture assault weapons for non-military use to understand what they can contribute to this shared responsibility."

Kicking the NRA just cost Delta Airlines $50 Million in tax breaks. :o

Georgia lawmakers voted to nix a tax benefit for Atlanta-based Delta as part of a broader tax package approved Thursday, following the airline's decision to sever ties with the National Rifle Association.

The bill -- which includes a sweeping income tax cut -- cleared the state House on an overwhelming 135-24 vote, after being approved in the state Senate on a 44-10 vote. It now heads to the governor's desk.

The final version dropped an earlier amendment that would have renewed a jet fuel tax exemption worth $50 million that was taken off the books in 2015.

“Businesses have every legal right to make their own decisions, but the Republican majority in our state legislature also has every right to govern guided by our principles,” Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, who very publicly threatened to pull the airline tax break earlier this week, said in a statement.
