Dirty Doc, SASS #18176
A shooting friend who rebuilds '92 & 73 Winchesters for his shooter collection bought a complete receiver group for a 1892 38-40 receiver. It turned out to be a 32-20 receiver altered to shoot 38 special or (probably) 357 Magnum. I am trying to find him a '92 receiver group in 38-40. As long as the action is tight, we can have a barrel made for it. A perfect solution would be a mechanically sound '92 with a good bore which looks like crap. He re-made a '73 in 44-40 for me which was rusted and the wood rotted. Looks new but for the pitts. Can you spell "shooter"??? Any help on this project appreciated.
