Pat Riot Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Wow! I remember our first phone modem...26 KB. When the 56k modems came out I thought “It’s about time technology was catching up to our needs...” Who else remembers accessing the Wire and hanging out in the Saloon via phone modem?
Smoken D Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I remember visiting the KCPD computer unit back in the 60's. All those reel-to-reel that took an entire floor to operate. In the mid 70's used the N-Lets to send messages to other police departments throughout the country. My first out of country message I sent was to Sweden on a death notification. Took almost an hour just to enter in the address once I found it in the international PD computer address book. Today --- Google It
