Howdy,

I just joined SASS and I am interested in getting started in Cowboy Shooting, I am looking for any Clubs in the Los Angeles area.

Welcome to Cowboy Shooting - you will have an absolute blast!

Goody beat me to giving you the link to CA clubs for you to search.  You should be able to find some good local clubs.

And you can always make a weekend trip up to the Central Coast (once they get the 101 reopened...) and shoot with us at the beautiful Chorro Valley Regulators range (home of the SASS Western Regionals) on the San Luis Obispo Sportsmans Association site.

Welcome, and hopefully we can be of help here. I can see by joining, your addiction has started and you find this the best game in town. Not just shooting, but also the friendship and fellowship that is a great part of CAS.  MT

Howdy-

What part of Torrance are you in?

I lived on Cabrillo between Plaza-Del-Amo and Torrance Blvd for a few years, back in the early 1980's.

Look at Cajon Cowboys in Devore, and The Cowboys in Norco.

If you're up for a drive-Come on up to Double R bar Regulators in Lucerene Vly at the Lyons Club Range as we are shooting this Sunday.

Thank you, I found that awhile back and glanced over it, now I will read it carefully.  I'll be going to a local club to check things out, meet some people before I buy anything else.

You are very fortunate to have such a wonderful group of Cowboys and Cowgirls in your area.

Attend the shoots..... Bring what ya got....... And meet the best people in the world (Except for me)

Welcome Intervention.  We're glad you have joined us.  Pull up a chair and tell us a little about yourself--how long you've been shooting, what got you interested in CAS, how you came up with your alias, that sort of thing.

And be sure to tell your friends about this great game of ours.

Find a 'mentor' for this-;)

Also decide, what your budget will allow for start up costs-Remember that no one has ever save a penny, with 'cheap' tools.

Single stage press is easy to learn with, but OMG, slo......

I load on a Dillon 550 that I bought in 1987.

Load everything from .32 S&W up to .45-90. I also load 12ga shotgun, along with .338 Lapua and .50BMG.

I started reloading in 1967-Still have my RCBS jr' press that I bought from White Front Dept Store on Hawthorn Blvd in Torrance. ^_^

Roger that OLG,

I am a buy once, cry once kinda guy!  So no cheap tools here!  the Dillion 550 is exactly what I am going to get in a couple of months, and take a couple of classes at the loading store at Angeles.  Then I'll ask questions and talk to others to get things dialed in.  Looking to load 45ACP. 45 Colt, .308, .556, 12 gage and depending on what route I end up going for SASS either more 45 Colt or .357.  I'll figure that all out when I start meeting and talking with people at one of the local SASS clubs.  Right now I'm just in the exploring and learning stage, before I go on the spending spree!!!

The D/550 is the KISS of progressive presses.......

I buy all of my bulk reloading supplies here.

They will combine powder and primers into one HAZ-MAT fee, if kept to 48lbs total.
