Sedalia Dave Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Tried the Yorkshire pudding recipe the SubDeacon Joe posted earlier this month. They are very good and I will definitely make them again. However I wanted to pass along a couple of important things I learned. First and most important put the muffin tin inside another pan. I noticed that Jamie Oliver did this and I copied it. I thought he did this to make it easier to handle the muffin tin. Turns out that some of the oil actually dripped out of the muffing tin during the cooking process. Without the extra pan this would have made a mess in the oven. Second 370 degrees is not hot enough. I would set the temp to at least 400 degrees. Thanks again Joe for another excellent recipe.
Subdeacon Joe Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Glad you like it. It's pretty simple to make, isn't it?
Utah Bob #35998 Posted January 1, 2018 Posted January 1, 2018 Oven temp for cooking will vary a lot depending on your location.

Not to mention that home ovens are notorious for not being accurate as well as having hot and cold spots. 30 minutes ago, Clueless Bob said: Limey suggests 425. I've seen temperatures from 350 to 450 in recipies. 425 is my preferred.
Sedalia Dave Posted January 1, 2018 Author Posted January 1, 2018 Yep next time I'll try 425. They came out and were good but when I was adding the batter to the oil I could tell it wasn't hot enough. This kept them from rising as high as I would have liked.
