New Years Miracle Picture

Happy New Year to all my cow pals...y'all truly are the best!

On my way to the kitchen to make coffee I saw my granddaughters shoes by our front door. It brought tears to my eyes. Scarlett is eight and I have not seen her in three years. Before I got sick...

I love that girl. Our only grandchild.

God Bless California!  The kids put Scarlett in a Chinese Language Charter School when she was three. Being a gun loving Texan I thought the child was headed for perdition....I kept my mouth shut for a change.

Yesterday we went to a Chinese restaurant. Scarletts manners were flawless and then she ordered speaking Mandarin fluently. The waitress was amazed and they continued for several minutes.

Jim No Horse is a Blessed man....I need to mention guns to post here so....let me say...I want more guns...and Happy New  Year to you all...my friends... Thank you all so very much...I hope your miracle is as simple as a pair of shoes by the door....Jim

JNH:

Our only grand daughter is currently in China with my son & daughter-in-law.

Our daughter-in-law is from Beijing, and they go back once a year to visit family.

Interesting mix of cultures in the country now, compared to my experiences growing up.

Happy New Year to you & your family.

Y'all continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

I get it !

Congratulations.

A few years ago My Son and Daughter -in-law and my first Grandson had to stay with us for about a month ,

When there old house sold before their house was done .

My grandson was two years old .

Every morning when I got up for work .

My grandson would have his little shoes parked next to my shoes by the door .

It brought tears to my eyes the first time I saw it .

When they was moving out to their new home they was going to throw away is old shoes .

He has out grown them .

I said No I want the shoes .

I have them in my office on the shelf with some of my other special Nick nack's and stuff .

Everyone don't get it ,  and says what do you have them old shoes up there for .

To me its a special moment I cherish in my heart .

That is what's known as a "solid memory".

When folks come out to my shop area in the garage I often get asked "what's that rusty tin can with a hole in it doing on the shelf?" It was shot by my tree year old son with a tower flintlock pistol.

Son and grandson are coming down today to do a little shooting - someday hope to put the grandsons artifact on the shelf.
