Trigger Mike Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I know NAA pistols require you to rest the hammer in a both to avoid accidental discharge resulting from the hammer resting on the primer of a 22 round. Ruger double action LCR pistols have no visible hammer so how safe is it to carry one with a round under the hammer?
Utah Bob #35998 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Perfectly safe. It does not contact the round unless the trigger is pulled, like most modern DA revolvers.
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Slightly off topic, but personally, I'm a hammer kinda guy. Waited to buy my LCR until they came out with the LCRx. It gots a hammer and I be happy.
Trigger Mike Posted December 28, 2017 Author Posted December 28, 2017 my local store has a near new used one for 300
Hardpan Curmudgeon SASS #8967 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Which one, TM? I have a buddy who works in the ag industry. And he has a .357 LCR. He was talking with a client farmer one day, standing in the farmer's orchard, when out of nowhere a stray pit bull* came charging at them, snarling viciously. Friend asked farmer if that was his dog... farmer said "NO!" and braced himself to be attacked. Buddy pulled his LCR from ankle holster and dropped the animal in it's tracks just as it was about to tear into one of 'em. He really likes his LCR. *They suspected the dog had been dumped by some town-dweller - LOTS of people in these parts want to have the "baddest" dog in the neighborhood; get a pit, toss it out in the back yard and feed it but never bother with any training. I've had a few literally break into my yard; one severely injured one of my cats, another ripped the grill off my Mercedes when a cat sought refuge atop the roof. When I'm working out in the yard, I'll often have my LCR in my pocket.
Chili Ron Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Howdy, Do you mean NO warning shot? Works fer me Best CR
