Three Foot Johnson Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 This year has been the longest, hottest, driest stretch of weather I've seen in my 62 years here. Fires have burned over ONE MILLION acres of western Montana this summer, the worst fire season since the Devil's Broom fires of 1910, and still going. It's been in the 90's and 100's virtually every day for months, with -0- measurable rainfall most of the summer. Forty eight hours ago, it was in the 90's, yesterday a cold front moved in and the temp barely topped 40, with a cold drizzle all day. Today, once again, it barely topped 40, and the cold rain has now turned to snow. In the higher mountainous elevations of the state, where the fires mostly are, predictions are for up to THREE FEET of snow from this front.
J-BAR #18287 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Three feet of snow is proof of global warming, dontcha know.
Three Foot Johnson Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Tune in to The History Channel - "Two Degrees: The Point of no Return". It just started.
Rooster Ron Wayne Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 With the fires out in Montana . The Hurricanes in Texas and Florida. And the Tornadoes in Oklahoma and Kansas I think Im OK with the snow we get here in Michigan . Just sayin Rooster
Pat Riot Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 The weather here is going to remain beautiful until I get out of this walking boot contraption and plunk my down payment on a new bike...I can't wait!

The new 18s with the Milwaukee are nice. If I can next year I will trade up. Get that hoof working again soon.
Guest Grass Range #51406 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 93 days with no rain. Now 3 inches so the grass is softening up so it does not break apart when a critter steps on it
Three Foot Johnson Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Montana... where wildland firefighters can have heatstroke one day, get stuck in the snow the next, have the pumps on their brush trucks freeze up, and have frostbite & hypothermia all at the same time. Meanwhile, when the rains started and the snow began falling...
Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Still no rain in Mildew land. Promised for tomorrow. PROMISES, PROMISES, PROMISES. We shall see.

North and NE Texas have had one of the wettest years on record and we didn't get any rain from Harvey. That said we haven't had any rain since the end of August. Wish we could send some your way
