Jess Money
I need to replace a bolt/trigger spring in my Pietta Frontier and wondered if they made a lower hammer for that model. I didn't notice any info on their web site last time i Looked.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
What is a Pietta Frontier? I am familiar with Pietta but have not heard of this model. Do you have a link so we can see what you are talking about? Never mind. I see that Cimarron uses that name on some Pietta SAAs. Looks like a variant of the GWII and yes they do make lower hammers. Looks like Abilene chimed in while I was typing. The hammers run around $70.00 each. Pietta usually brings parts to Winter Range and EOT so if you attend either shoot or have a friend that does you should be able to get a couple if the parts suppliers are out. Abilene, SASS # 27489
Cimarron calls their Pietta line the Frontier line. They do carry the low-wide hammers (subject to availability). If they don't have them, EMF might, though those may be shaped somewhat differently.
Jess Money
Thank you both for your responses.I went back to the Colt clones this past weekend just to shoot something different than the Rugers for a change. What a difference lower hammers make! I figured while I was in there replacing the springs I'd change out hammers also. Appreciate the information! Jefro, SASS#69420
Did you check with EMF or Taylors?? Both are Pietta dealers, the Alchimista has lower hammers. Taylor used to list one but I don't see it anymore. If they don't have them they should be able to put you on the right path. Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
I would also call VTI. They are the largest distributor of Italian parts in the country and really know what fits what. http://www.vtigunparts.com/store/
40Chev
I've got what I believe was called a "Runnin Iron" hammer. Bought it for my Model P Jr., not realizing the full size frame hammer would not fit the smaller frame of mine. No idea if it would work on a Pietta, if it would work for you - I'd take $80 shipped for it.
Jess Money
Thanks 40Chevy, but when I find them, I'll need two. But, I appreciate your response.
