Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L
We need prayers. Fort Bend sheriff's just came, and we are under mandatory evacuation. Streets will definitely flood, hopefully not the house. Pray the Brazos crests lower than predicted which is higher than last year when the street didn’t even flood while my house was under construction. Predictions for crest height keep going down, but still above last year’s crest. We have food and water for over a week as we won’t be able to get out for possibly that long after today. Lorelei Longshot, SASS #44256 Life
Really GREAT news. Brazos River predicted to crest on 9/1 at only 56.00 feet which is only 1.3 ft above last year's crest at 54.7 ft. when the street didn't even get any water on it. It has continued to go down all day today so it may even crest lower than 56.00 ft. Thanks for the prayers. They are working, but please keep them up. Still no water on my street, but some streets in the front and both of the access streets have some water now. Hwy 90 bridge to Richmond now closed also. The worst thing so far is that we were planning to shoot Shootin' in the Shade in Arkansas and scheduled to leave tomorrow. They were soooo nice (when aren't cowboy shooters nice?) and are refunding our registration fees. Even the hotel is refunding our nonrefundable fees because of this horrendous flooding situation. I'm just ticked that this Crazy Harvey keeps hanging around and making a mess of Texas and keeps me from going SHOOTING. A little humor here from a FB post See what happens when you name a hurricane after a man! He won't ask directions, wanders around lost, leaves a mess and doesn't clean up after himself! Keep safe , prayers going up for You and Yours ... Jabez Cowboy I grabbed ahold of it yesterday, spun around a few times and threw it like a hammer. It's headed your way. My aim aint too good, if you're in the southeast part of canada, you might see a little bit of it. Put up a big marker and I'll try to get the next one closer. Cheyenne Ranger, 48747L
from Lorelei: Good news and bad news. Good – we are OK. Brazos expected to crest tomorrow lower than 59.0 ft. originally predicted. Predicted now at 55.7 ft. and going down quickly after that which means we should be OK. Crested last May 2016 at 54.8 ft. Right now 9 p.m. at 55.12 ft. We have food and water for people and cats for at least a week. (Manassas previously said he never kept as much food in his pantry as I do plus the food in the freezer in the laundry room. He hasn’t said anything about how much food we have on hand since Harvey came.) Haven’t lost power since last Saturday morning for 3 hours, but the generator ran and kept house cool. Bad – water started coming out of the street drains this afternoon at about 1 p.m. Water now at the foot of my driveway about 1 inch deep but doesn’t cover the street in front of my house. It does cover street in front of my neighbor’s house two houses over across the street and is curb deep. Farther on down the street about a block down, the street is flooded from curb to curb at the top of the curb. Numerous houses in River’s Edge in other sections have up to several feet of water and most streets are flooded up into yards even if houses aren’t flooded. Hopefully, even if it keeps rising out of the drains, it has a long way up the driveway to the house, then 1 inch up into garage, then 3 inches step from garage to house. We can’t get out and probably won’t be able to get out before next week. Keep praying for us, and I will try to keep you posted. Lorelei

Lorelei Longshot, SASS #44256 Life
Great news - Flooded streets going down and we can finally get in and out of the neighborhood. During the worst part of the flood, the sewer pumps were shut down for three days so we couldn't flush or shower, but being Texans, we dealt with it. Luckily there is still construction going on so we had a porta potty three doors down from my house. Notice the guys put wooden pallets so we didn't have to walk through the mud, and someone placed a "Welcome" flag. Sewer pumps now working again so we can flush and shower.
