Throckmorton,23149
I have almost a pound of that powder to use up, but only have old load manuals. Does anyone have proven ...meaning printed data for cowboy level loads with Hs 6,in .45 colt ? ..Not allowed to answer here, please IM me so we don't brake no rools. thanks, Pards
Garrison Joe, SASS #60708
I wouldn't load that for .45 Colt cartridges for Cowboy shooting - too slow a powder to really make a reasonable light load. But you MIGHT be satisfied with a 200 grain bullet and the starting-level load that Hodgdon shows in their on-line loading data. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/pistol That STARTING load would be just under the maximum velocity of 1000 FPS in pistols. When you think about the fact that their minimum HS-6 load is already almost illegal for SASS rules (1000 FPS from revolvers), you can see it's not a well-suited powder for our game. If that load would work, you can look up .45 Colt cartridge and 200 grain bullet and Hodgdon powders..... you'll see data for that load HS-6 would be much better used in heavy 357 or 44 mag jacketed bullet loads.... Good luck, GJ
