We have it set up with 38 Short Colt dies and load 38 Short Colt, 38 Special and 357 Magnum on it. I think I like it better than the 550B that is setting 4 foot from it. It's not as automated but it seems like I don't spend nearly as much time fiddle-farting keeping all the bells and whistles working on the 550B. And there is a lot more visibility without the gizmos. Dillon did have a service to upgrade the 450 to the 550. I don't think it'd be a cost savings to buy a 450 and pay to convert to 550.
