Abilene Slim SASS 81783
Saw the movie today at an AMC Imax theater. I brought ear plugs just in case and glad I did, because the sound was quite literally deafening. So much so that I thought of leaving as it distracted from some breathtaking cinematography. The dialogue was for the most part unintelligible amidst the dramatic music and explosions, so I'm asking those who might have seen the movie this: The downed pilot who was picked up by the yacht asks a teenager how his father (owner and skipper of the boat) knew how to dodge a strafing run. All I heard was something about "flying Hurricanes". Does anyone recall the complete reply?
Dantankerous
Nope. I could only understand maybe 50% of the dialogue. Twas indeed lost to the high volume of the audio and unnecessarily loud background music of the movie in IMAX. Oh well. Good movie though. "...the sound was literally quite defening..." I agree. I didn't like the three different perspectives of the same events happening three different times. Confusing... My wife was lost. Is that the same ship sinking again? Yup! If I remember correctly, immediately after the question is posed, the father turns around and answers something to the effect of, 'my son was one of your lot.' The pilot then asks the teenager, 'you're in the RAF?' ...to which he replies, 'no, my older brother was- flew Hurricanes. Killed in the [early weeks] of the war.'
