Doc Hurd #12379
I think Lipseys had a Run of Ruger .44 special vaqueros a few years back. I'm trying to find a pair, any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Doc

Three Foot Johnson
The 3 3/4" Sheriff's model turns up frequently, but the 4 5/8"ers are pretty hard to come by anymore. Barleycorn Outfitters, a vendor here, has a very nice used stainless Sheriff's model in stock, already outfitted with a Super Blackhawk hammer, springs, etc.
Doc Hurd #12379
I want SS with 4-5/8" barrels. Thanks
W. D. Pickett
Howdy Doc, I purchased one several years ago and paid beaucoup for it. I think that you will find some, but you better have the stage coach full of gold. Quick scan of GB showed a couple sheriff's models, and lots of Blackhawks. Don't know. Good luck. I got my 4 5/8" stainless models about 5 years ago when they were still reasonable - $498 for one, and $520 ea for the other two. Dealers had a hard time moving them, I suppose because folks that wanted a .44 wanted a .44 magnum, and partly because .44 spl factory ammo was virtually non-existent. There was a NIB blue 4 5/8" on gunbroker last month that went for only $485 - a surprisingly low price.

Reuben McCoy Rankin # 34239
Hope you have better luck than I did, I searched for more than a year, finally settled for a pair of Vaqueros in 44 Mag to shoot my 44 Russians.
Rooster Ron Wayne
Kinda hard to find in 44 special. I bought 4 Consecutive sets when they first come out . I sold one set last year for 300@ more then I paid for them . I wish I would have never sold them . The other six guns I dont think I will ever part with . I have seen them on Gun brokers on occasion. But pretty rare and sell fast. Keep looking they are out there. I also have a pair of the Blackhawk flat top 44 special in 4-5/8. They are a great option . There are some of them out there for sale. I really like them a lot. With the big front sight they shoot great for Cowboy action shooting. Just sayin . Rooster. PS. I bought a pair of Uberti 71-72 Open Tops in 44 specials. They are another option for you also. They shoot great and are a lot of fun .
Wild Willi
I see 44mag guns all the time, is this what your looking for?
Doc Hurd #12379
Thanks Willi, I think the 44 mags were built on the old frame and the 44 specials were on the newer vaquero frame which is a little smaller. I may wind up having a set made out of a pair of .357 vaqueros.
Hashknife Cowboy
You won't be sorry, keep looking. I picked up a pair in southern AZ about 4 years ago, they are my favorites. That is what i'm loading in my profile picture......
Wild Willi
Do they not make new models in 44 mag?
Three Foot Johnson
The New Vaquero is not made in .44 mag, but Ruger just re-introduced the .44 magnum on the original, larger frame.
Chili Ron
Eh, what up Doc? Over the years Ive wanted various odd Rugers. Some were just so hard to find, I gave up on em. Some I simply had to keep hunting, they are out there. And yes, sometimes they are a bit pricy. Rare hardly ever equals cheap. Most pards know what they have. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the fastest route wasn't to have a pair of 357s reworked to 44 spec. rework 357s to 44 spec. And maybe blast em to a mat finish. Sounds good. I bet you could sell em any time down the road. Best CR
