why you never take you eye off a long gun as you put it down

Wow, a close call! I always tried to watch my guns down, especially after the frinng on some Cavalry type glove I was trying out one time snagged on my rifle and I almost pulled it off the table. Never wore them shooting again.

OUCH!

 

Had a shooter knock his H&R 45-70 rifle off a shelf last Sat at a Cody Dixon Match as he was transitioning between shooting stations. The rifle twisted and rolled off the shelf butt first as it fell. Bounced off the recoil pad twice before settling against the fence. For all the acrobatics the rifle did it never broke the 170. Wish I had it on video.

Been there done that. Did nearly the same thing once. I hope your arm and shoulder are okay.

    Saw this particular video yesterday after I had viewed the "Short Wagon" wheelchair video that Sedalia Dave posted on the "Timing for a shooter in a wheelchair" thread that Prairie Dawg started.

    It took some acrobatics; but it was a great save.

good news.......that stage is slated for demo and rebuild for next year............shelves with no more than 1% bounce rate
