J.C. Bell, SASS #15217
Will someone suggest a WELL QUALIFIED BPCR gunsmith in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisianna to do some repair on a Shiloh Sharps Model 1874, please? I don't want to risk shipping it back to Montana. Cordially, J.C. Bell; SASS #15217

Charlie Harley, #14153
Lee Shaver is in Missouri. Not sure if that's beyond your driving range. http://stores.leeshavergunsmithing.com If you're shipping the gun to a 'smith, might as well go back to Shiloh. I've had no problem with any work they've done for me. I have two of their 1874s.
The Original Lumpy Gritz
What is it do'n you don't like? Who knows-You may not need to send the entire rifle. OLG
J.C. Bell, SASS #15217
The risk I intended to convey is that of shipping itself. I have no lack of confidence in Shiloh. I'd really like to know of a good BPCR gunsmith within the area bounded by Ft. Smith, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, Houston. Dave Higgenbotham's untimely death was a great loss to the BPCR community. The Original Lumpy Gritz
Many 'smiths have a specificity. Know'n what area of the rifle you are dealing with helps in the selection. For example, if you are having an issue with the lock itself. You can mail the lock directly to Shiloh. X2 about the loss of Dave!! OLG
Rex M Rugers #6621
Maybe Jimmie Summerfield , not sure where he actually lives , but it is somewhere in the Austin- San Antonio-Waco sphere. Contact Kenny Tebbe , former state BPCR director. He can probably guide you to him or some other competent smith. Rex
Boggus Deal #64218
Goatneck Clem is in the Fort Worth area. There is no better person to deal with. He's a great smith. If he don't work on those, he will know of someone in the area, if there is one.

Griff
Frankly, I'd simply take the stock off, build a lightweight wood-framed cardboard box, stuff the livin' heck out of it with foam... and ship it to Shiloh. But, then again, I'd be inclined to load it up in my truck and drop by Big Timber. The factory tour is worth it. Take a drool rag.

I just got my Shiloh in yesterday and now I want to tour the factory.
