J-BAR #18287
The shape of line joining the buttstock to the action is different from my BSS. Do you know when this one was made?
Boozy Creek
Sorry, I don't know the manufacture date. It is marked Browning Arms, Morgan Utah and Montreal, and made in Japan.
Doc O'Bay
Is this the 2-3/4 and 3" chamber? Factory or "custom" splinter fore-end (they weren't available with the splinter in the US as standard)? What work was performed?
Boozy Creek
2 3/4 chambers. Not sure about the fore end, but the scrollwork on the metal of the fore end matches up with the scrollwork on the reciever perfectly. Serial number on the fore end matches the gun. It is easier to open, chambers are chamfered but not excessively so and trigger lightened. I don't know if this gun had an auto safety from the factory, but if so it is strictly manual now.
