twelve mile REB Posted May 4, 2017 Posted May 4, 2017 Yes indeed my first kiss as it were, a nice P-17 upgraded into a crop duster with more power. 1961 Pickens AR.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted May 5, 2017 Posted May 5, 2017 A PT-17 Stearman was the first plane I ever rode in. Logan, Utah Airport had some guy come in offering rides, 15 minutes for a quarter. I was working at a friend's dad's gas station for 50 cents an hour and promptly blew two bucks. I'd have spent more but he wanted to take some other kids up before they were old enough to get jobs and move out of town. I didn't think that ride would ever end.

Del Rio Pete Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 The Stearman is on my Bucket list. $375 for a ride in our area. Have an acquaintance that has one and gives kids rides for free at local EAA Young Eagles events. Another friend just qualified to fly the CAF (Commemorative Air Force) Stearman, so maybe I'll get the friend or old man discount one day.
