I finally finished my "Bring It Back From The Dead" 1885 Winchester . Converted from RF to CF, relined barrel and a whole bunch of other fixes.

You can read all about it with tons of pictures on my web site

Hope you like it!

That LocTite is designed for this type of procedure. Extreme high heat is required to break it free. Never experienced even in a black powder lever action.

God help you if you ever screw one of these up and have to remove the liner. Only effective way to do it is to bore it out and start over...

Yup, 452 degrees will break it down. I've never even got my high rate of fire varmint rifles that hot. I wrote an article about this a number of years ago when I was active in shooting prairie dogs. We cooled the barrels by putting the muzzle in a bucket of water and drawing water into the bore with an "o" ring fitted bore cleaning rod! We were measuring temperatures and rarely got over 250 degrees. And that was with a 220 Swift. I'm sure and extreme high rate of BP shooting could get a might bit warmer. Might have to do a test someday

Thanks

Only about a couple hours except for the barrel boring. At 1/8" per cut, I'm cutting, removing reamer...cleaning reamer...blowing out bore...relube vreamer...cut another 1/8"...repeat...180 TIMES!

Everything else is pretty straight forward with the proper tooling.
