Three Foot Johnson Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 I'm 6'4", on the north side of 60, my back hurts, my hips hurt, my knees & ankles hurt, etc., and with a gunbelt cinched up around my waist and holsters tied down, it's clumsy to bend down and pick up the Texas Star plates when re-setting a stage, so... The 3"/90 lb magnet is less than five bucks at Harbor Freight, a 3/8" eye bolt I had laying around, a short length of nylon rope, and *presto*, no more bending over. I can't possibly be the first one to come up with something like this, but I've never seen anyone use such a thing.
Major BS Walker Regulator Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Go back to Harbor Freight. They sell for a few dollars a magnet mounted on the end of a fiberglass rod with a release handle. Just pull the handle and the magnet lets go.All the clubs around here use them.
Pat Riot Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Grog never use such thing. Grog pick up heavy plate even when back hurt. Thanks J-Bar and Major Walker. Good ideas.
Eyesa Horg Posted April 11, 2017 Posted April 11, 2017 Never had metal plates in Grog's day. Probly no plates at all!
