Local Election Question

Let me start by saying it would normally take an act of God for us to not cast our vote.  We take that right very seriously.

Our local elections are coming up.  Nothing really earth shattering on the ballot.  Local public offices, school board etc.  Here's the question.

Uno and I will be moving out of the area in the very near future.  We are actually considering not voting in this upcoming election because we won't live in the area any longer and won't be effected by the outcome of the election.  Additionally, we don't want to cancel out the votes of two people who will have to live with the results.

What would you do?

Vote for those you are leaving behind. They need all the help they can get!

Good people never do others a disservice when they vote.

So vote.  :)

I was in that situation in the early '80s.  Local off-year election.  My precinct had one item on it, school board.  I was going to be moving out of the area about a month after the election.  I figured that since I wasn't going to be around to face the consequences of my vote, I had no call voting in that one.

Only one I've missed since '76.

The 1st election I voted in was 68. I turned 21 in 67 and haven't missed a vote since. One was a year like you're pondering since I was moving then too. I voted b4 I left to get rid of the ones that should be in jail rather than public office.

If you think you're going to do good for the people left living there then by all means vote!!:FlagAm:
